Safeguarding is how adults at risk of, or experiencing, abuse and neglect, can get help to live safely, free from abuse and neglect. Read information supplied by West Sussex Safeguarding Adults Board for help and advice.
Winter brings slippery paths, poor light and colder homes, which can make falls more likely. Anyone can fall, but the risk is higher if you're over 65, live with a long-term condition, or have problems with balance or mobility.
Falls are common - around one in three people aged 65 and over who live at home will fall at least once a year, rising to one in two for those over 80 - but many of the injuries and worries that follow can be avoided if you know what to do.
Warm Spaces are somewhere you can go to keep warm and enjoy some company. In some locations you will be able to get refreshments, take part in activities and access advice and information about local services.
