The County Council has put together the ‘Creating Healthy and Sustainable Places: A Framework for West Sussex’ – a new policy for developers, investors, planners, service providers and decision makers which maximises opportunities to create healthy and  sustainable places across the county.

Residents and stakeholders are being asked to look at this framework and take part in the consultation.

Share your thoughts

The consultation begins on Monday 16November 2020 and will run until Monday 11 January 2021 for eight weeks. It is available here:

Amanda Jupp, West Sussex County Council Cabinet Member for Adults and Health, said:

“This is an exciting opportunity for us to shape West Sussex into a sustainable and healthy place for all who live and work here. Everyone has the right to live in a great place. More importantly, everyone has the right to contribute to making the place where they already live great. This framework sets out how we will achieve this aim and I would encourage as many people as possible to share their views on it.”

District and Borough Councils, Public Health England, NHS Estates, Sport England and other partners including developers have all contributed to the framework so far.

Following public consultation a final draft of the framework will be produced, which will be presented to the Health and Wellbeing Board in January 2021.
