eConsult
Some GP surgeries offer online forms or portals such as eConsult for appointment booking.
eConsult is a free online platform that allows you to get help and advice from your NHS GP practice. You can use it to let a GP know about any symptoms you're having, ask a question or follow up about something. This could be either your own health or on behalf of someone you care for.
You can also check your GP surgery's website to see what online booking options they use.
John's story
John told Healthwatch about how he booked his appointment for a lump on his neck.
I sent a request via the website with photos. The same day I got a text with a date for an appointment, a week later. I went and saw the Doctor. I was also given an appointment for 3 weeks’ later and told to cancel if it was not needed.
