Love your cervix

A new NHS campaign is urging young women in the Southeast to take part in their cervical cancer screenings.
It's your cervix. Show it you care.

Women aged between 25 and 29 are the least likely to attend their screening.

Every woman between the ages of 24 and 60 is invited to take part in the NHS cervical screening program. The reality is many don't bother. The reasons they don't can be varied, but for those who do turn up, it's a far better experience than they'd feared.

Understanding the screening program.

They say it's not a test for cancer. It's a test to help prevent cancer. They're screening for abnormalities of the common HPV virus that could potentially lead to cervical cancer.

I was very nervous to have my smear test done. I've had a lot of bad experiences but they made me very feel very safe and comfortable. She done it and I I didn't even know that she'd done it if I'm honest with you.
