Become a Strategic or Engagement NHS Sussex Community Ambassador

Want to help shape local Health and care services?

NHS Sussex are looking for Community Ambassadors:

“Do you want to make a difference?

They are looking to recruit volunteers from a diverse range of backgrounds to support us to put people and communities at the heart of NHS Services.

There are two types of volunteer roles available, and you can give as much or as little time as you have available:

  • Engagement Community Ambassadors work alongside the Public Involvement team to reach in their local community, to connect with local people and gather views on health and care services in the area.
  • Strategic Community Ambassadors work with clinicians and managers on specific programmes, projects and tasks to represent the public and act as a “critical friend”.

All volunteers have access to training and support and are reimbursed for reasonable expenses.

NHS Sussex embraces diversity and equality and we are committed to building a team of volunteers with a variety of backgrounds, skills and views. The more inclusive NHS Sussex is means they can help meet the needs of people living in Sussex.

Reasonable adjustments can be made to help people volunteer as a Community Ambassador. NHS Sussex would particularly like to hear from people who are living with a disability, those with lived experience of a long term condition, and/ or people living in Brighton and Hove.
