West Sussex Community Food Hubs

West Sussex County Council is working in partnership with UKHarvest, a food rescue charity, to reduce food waste and provide access to affordable food using rescued produce.

How it works

The Community Food Hubs are open to everyone and are designed to reduce food waste. Simply bring a shopping bag and fill it from a selection of mixed groceries for a suggested donation of £3.50.

Hubs rescue surplus food from suppliers that would have gone to waste and provide hints and tips on food waste prevention and new recipes.

The hubs also offer recipes and host information stands on various subjects, including waste prevention, wellbeing, and Citizens Advice.

Locations

Each district and borough will host a UKHarvest community food hub once a month where, for a suggested small donation, people will be able to pick up a wide selection of surplus foods which would have otherwise ended up as waste from suppliers.
