Prioritising our work

As health and care services seek to cope with the aftermath from pausing services; where people have struggled to get their health and care needs met and/or delayed coming forward; and the mental health impact stemming from the Pandemic, we will be drawn into many competing issues and areas of work.

Prioritising helps us to focus our resources and be clear with the health and social care commissioners and services on what we plan to work on and where additional resources will be needed to enable us to provide insight and support.

As well as following up on previous work we will concentrate on:

  • Access to GP Care - Working with many other Healthwatch
  • Cancer and inequalities
  • Dentistry - Working across Sussex
  • Independent Health Complaints Advocacy Service (IHCAS) - Support NHS services to have quality and responsive approaches to complaints
  • #ConfusingComms - Clearer supportive communications

We are keen to work collaboratively on our priorities and would encourage you to speak to us if you have an interest in any of these areas.
