Parliamentary & Health Service Ombudsman launch new Service Charter
Posted on: 26/07/2016
The Parliamentary & Health Service Ombudsman (PHSO) looks into complaints where an individual believes there has been injustice or hardship because an organisation has not acted properly or fairly or has given a poor service and not put things right.
This Ombudsman has launched it’s new service charter which you can find on their website http://www.ombudsman.org.uk/about-us/our-service-charter
The Ombudsman, through this charter, makes a public commitment to:
- be clear about their role, explaining what they cannot do or can do
- tell people how they work and make final decisions on complaints
- keep people informed about their complaint progress
- make decisions as soon as they can.
This should make it easier for you and our Independent Health Complaints Advocacy Service team to gain a complaint account.
If you feel unhappy about a health treatment/service and are considering whether to make a complaint you can contact Healthwatch West Sussex to explore your options. Our advocates can also offer practical support and assistance.
